Last night was the last night of volleyball playoffs. Jeremy and I came to the realization that this was our 30th season playing together. That’s a long time.
We were the #2 seed. We win 2 out of three games, we move on to the championship game.
Not only did we not win 2 out of three. We lost 2 out of 3 badly.
Sure it could have been the beer and shots during the pre-game. It could have been the distraction of the nice weather. It could have been the fact that I didn’t wear my bright yellow pants… But I think it was just a simple fact: last night, the team we played against, played better than us.
Either way, it didn’t make anyone happy to lose. It has been a while since we have won a league. We want to win.
Now after 30 seasons, I am taking over the reigns of “El Capitain” for the first time. Maybe my leadership skills (and name change from Blueballs to the Witchita Waginas) can lead us to another victory next season.
